As engineers and producers—especially those chasing longevity and excellence—taste matters. Our work is art. It comes from the soul, and ideally, it stands the test of time. We invest in the best plugins, the finest outboard gear, and other tools that enrich our craft.
At Gear Hive, we believe your environment should reflect the same standard. Studio furniture made from particle board and plastic, chasing trends that will soon look dated, doesn’t belong in a space built for timeless creation. Your studio should feel inspiring—designed with intention, not compromise.
There’s so much beautiful studio equipment being made. We think it deserves to live in furniture that looks as good in ten years as it does today. You wouldn’t settle for a second-rate mix—we don’t think you should settle for uninspired furniture either.
That’s why we started Gear Hive.
Our specialty is wood studio racks and a variety of other studio furniture that are thoughtfully designed, built to last, and visually timeless. No MDF. No particle board. Just real materials, smart details, and a focus on ergonomics and aesthetics that match the premium gear our customers use.
What makes us different? We’re not just furniture makers — we’re part of the recording world ourselves. We know the studio is sacred. Every piece we make is crafted with the same level of care and taste that goes into a great record.
DESIGNED BY AN AUDIO ENGINEER
Gear Hive is the brainchild of a seasoned audio engineer with a 20-year obsession for all things recording. Born out of a profound understanding of what creatives crave in their studio spaces, Gear Hive brings you furniture that doesn't just enhance its aesthetics, but also serves your studio's functional needs. Where design meets utility, all our products are tailored for the recording studio of today.
Each and every piece of lumber (yes, we use wood!) used for our products is hand selected and sourced from the best local distributors. Our selection process prioritizes the most appealing grain, color tones, and overall character to ensure the highest standard of materials for our creations. Unlike many other companies that use less stable mediums, our furniture is made from wood and sprayed with a high-performance top coat. All of our furniture gets 1/8”, powder coated steel rack rails.

Not only are we a USA based company but we also use products that are from the USA as well. For example, our wood comes from one of the oldest family-owned forest product companies (Murphy) and is located right here in the Pacific Northwest. All their wood is sustainably sourced from local forests and looks absolutely beautiful. The clear coat used on everything we make is also manufactured here in the states by Gemini Industries out of Oklahoma and Texas. They are a 100% employee-owned company founded in 1964.
